Flighted Pages is delighted to announce the inaugural edition of the Reembodied Anthology. Reembodied is an anthology created by Queer and disabled people for Queer and disabled people.
The anthology will make its debut at the 2026 SpringOUT festival, where it will platform and celebrate Queer artists within the ACT region.
We are now accepting submissions for written works and cover art. More information about submissions are below in the submission requirements.
The theme for this edition of the anthology is: Reembodied! What does reembodied mean to you, to us, as queer people?

The Selection Panel
Emma Batchelor (she/her) is a queer, autistic, writer, multidisciplinary artist and advocate from Kamberri (Canberra). Emma regularly writes on the arts, gender, sexuality, mental illness and identity and her first novel ‘Now that I see you’ was the winner of the Australian/Vogel Literary Award. As a dancer, Emma has performed for Quantum Leap Australia in both regional and international tours as well as for brother, choreographer James Batchelor. Emma is the Chair of MARION, a board member of The Stellar Company, an ambassador of the Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge and has been a member of the Minister’s Creative Council. Each year Emma produces accessible, inclusive arts events as part of the annual SpringOUT festival. Her professional background is in corporate governance, creative development and community organising.

Alex Eagleton (she/they) is a queer and disabled poet and author writing and creating on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. She has published three collections of poetry, To Hang the Masks Upon the Wall (2023), the merry-go-round (2023), and Tarot (2025). Her work has been featured by Wingless Dreamer Publications in the Night Worship anthology (2024) and in the Kindred Trees Project. In addition to writing, Alex is the Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of Flighted Pages.

You must be over 18 years of age to be eligible for submission.
You must be part of the LGBTQ+ community to be eligible for submission.
You must be a resident of the ACT, the surrounding regions, or demonstrate a significant connection to the ACT to be eligible for submission.
The submission must be unpublished work.
Whilst we allow simultaneous submissions, if your work is accepted elsewhere, please contact us as soon as possible to withdraw your submission from Reembodied.
Any use of Generative AI in the creation of your submission will disqualify it from selection.

Submission Requirements for Writers:
Short Story: up to 3000 words excluding title
Poetry: up to 80 lines excluding title
The work must be written predominantly in English.
Submissions must be attached with no identifying information in the document (including the file name) to ensure blind assessment.

Submission Requirements for Artists:
You are permitted to submit up to three (3) different pieces, each as a separate submission.
Submissions must be attached with no identifying information in the document (including the file name) to ensure blind assessment.
You are permitted to use any medium, as long as the work can be submitted digitally.
Submission must be attached in the following formats:
The cover art alone as either a .png, .pdf, or .svg, and
The completed cover art template exported and uploaded as a .pdf.
Cover Art Template:
The .pdf file is editable in any Adobe, Affinity, or Canva program.
The .png file of the logo in black-and-white can be used to aid composition if necessary. We encourage you to integrate the logo into your art, and you can place it anywhere on the cover. If your art is selected, we will collaborate with you to recolour the logo.
Please ensure that your art fully covers the outlined box including bleeds.
You are not permitted to resize the logo.
